Immediately, another friend, Karen, explained to everyone that there is a belief associated with the ringing of the ears. She added that if the left ears ring, then someone is saying good things about you.

On the other hand, if the right ear is ringing, someone is saying bad things about you. So you have to keep saying name of the people you know. The name that popped up before your ringing stops will be the person who must be talking about you. Most of the people found this idea entertaining.

They hide inside the sofas and other furniture. If the bed bugs are not eradicated at a proper time, they may spread throughout your home. The sooner you get rid of them, the easier it is. It is very essential to identify the areas infested with bed bugs, so that you can take precautions they do not spread to other spaces.

2. Make Sure That They Are Really Bed Bugs

Sometimes we mistake fleas and other insects to be bed bugs. For that, it is necessary to know about the appearance of bed bugs. They are small insects with no wings. Their size is almost similar to the size of a rice grain. The color of their body is dark brown or reddish. They are very difficult to spot with a naked eye. So look out for spots on your bed-sheets. These spots are red or black in color.

3. Clean The Clutter Around

Spaces full of clutter are the most favorable for breeding and hiding of bed bugs. To make the treatment for bed bugs more efficient, you have to keep your house clean and organized. Throw away all the items that you do not need. Organize the usable items in piles or boxes or closets. This will limit the area for the bed bugs to hide and make vacuuming and cleaning a lot easier for you.

4. Vacuum Your House

Vacuuming is a very effective step in the process of eradicating bed bugs. You should vacuum each room and each corner of your house thoroughly, as you may not know the actual extent of spread of the bed bugs. Vacuuming reduces the hiding places for the bed bugs. You should vacuum furniture, mattresses, bed frames, flooring, box springs, curtains, baseboards etc. especially. It is very important to use a bag type vacuum. After vacuuming, dispose of the bag far away from your residential area.

5. Heat Treatment

Bed bugs are very sensitive to heat. Hence, they cannot survive in high temperatures. The best practice is to wrap all the infested items in black plastic bags and leave them in the open where they can be exposed to a scorching sunlight. If you cannot shift the items in the sunlight, heat the room with special equipments available. Also, note that simple room heaters will not help in this process as the bed bugs need a temperature higher than 45 degrees Celsius to get destroyed.

6. Wash And Dry

Wash your clothes, bed sheets, sofa covers, curtains, blankets and all the washable fabrics at regular intervals of time. After washing, air-dry them in proper sunlight. Bed bugs and their eggs hide in the laundry hampers many times. So do not forget to clean such hampers/containers too.

7. Spray Insecticides

Spray insecticides thoroughly on each and every household item where the bed bugs can hide. Do not miss out the complex places in kitchen furniture, dressing table, wardrobes, bed frames, hinges of the doors etc. Bed bugs can hide behind electrical sockets and switch covers too. So remove such items carefully. Spray some insecticides and fix them back. In short, spray it at every possible place where people can come in contact. If there are any cracks in the flooring or walls of your home, pay special attention to such areas while spraying insecticides. Repeat this process every few weeks, initially. Later on, repeat the spray treatment every month.

8. Fill Up The Crevices And Cracks

You cannot just rely on cleaning and spraying insecticides for getting rid of the bed bugs. It is essential that all the crevices and cracks in flooring, walls or furniture should be filled with proper materials. This will prevent the infestation of bed bugs in the future.

9. Do Not Spread The Bed Bugs

It might happen that after all precautions and efforts, the infested items may not be entirely free from bed bugs. In that case, if you want to throw away such articles, dispose of them properly. Some people may take your discarded things at home and may infest them too. The best way to dispose of such items is by burning them.

How To Get Rid Of Cellulite On Back Of Thighs

Before discussing the ways to eliminate cellulite from the thighs, it is very important to understand what causes it. First of all, let’s be clear that cellulite deposition cannot occur to only fat people. Thin people can have this condition too. It is more of a genetic condition. Moreover, it is more common in the females than in males. However, for overweight people, reducing weight will help to discard a great amount of cellulite on thighs. Following are the causes for cellulite to get deposited on thighs:

  • Poor nutrition and less than required diet
  • Intense dieting
  • Slow rate of metabolism
  • Very less or negligible amount of physical activity
  • Sudden changes in the hormones
  • Dehydration
  • Increase in the overall body fat
  • Thickness of the skin
  • Color of the skin

Assess yourself and identify the cause of your cellulite problem. It will help to make use of the best remedy possible.

Now let us know about the various Remedies to get rid of cellulite:

1. Diet

  • Eat a diet that is full of protein and fiber. A balanced diet always helps to get rid of the body fat and unwanted cellulite in the body.
  • Protein can be obtained from nuts and meats. Proteins play a great role in repairing collagen and connective tissues that are broken and damaged. Hence, the skin gets firmer and tightened. So the wrinkled and dimpled cellulite in the back of your thighs will be eliminated gradually. Lean protein sources like fish are more advisable than fatty protein sources such as red meat.
  • Whole grains, leafy vegetables and fruits help to regulate the body by clearing the toxins and waste from the intestine.
  • If you are trying to discard the cellulite from your body, junk food consumption should be strictly avoided. Junk foods contain transfats and saturated fats that dump more cellulite into one’s body. Not just junk foods, but all the foods that contain such substances should not be consumed.

2. Keep A Track Of The Calories

  • Getting rid of cellulite depends a lot on burning fat. So apply a simple rule to your day-to-day life: Burn more calories than you consume every day.
  • Based on the Body Mass Index (BMI) calculate your ideal weight.
  • For the people who follow an exercise routine of 60 minutes work-out three to four times a week, the goal weight should be multiplied by 15 times. For those who do not exercise can multiply it by 13. Those who manage to exercise for more than 60 minutes in a day should multiply it by 20. The final answer will give you the count of the calories that you should consume daily.
  • Count the number of total calories that were consumed by you in the whole week. Now, deduct the daily requirement of the calories in a week that you had calculated earlier. The product will be the number of excess calories that you need to burn out from your body.
  • Drinking lots of water helps to shed impurities, fats and toxins from the body. So cellulite, not only from the thighs, but from the whole body will get discarded.
  • Water also strengthens the connective tissues and collagen in the skin. So the skin gets firmer. This helps in reducing the wrinkled effect of collagen and creating a smoother appearance on the thighs, especially the back portion.
  • Increase your daily intake of water to a considerable level. The normal requirement of water for most of the people is at least 250 ml every day. If you are not drinking this much amount of water, then increase your daily intake of water. If you are already having the suggested amount of water daily, then there is no harm in increasing intake to one or two more glasses, on a regular basis.

3. Physical Activity

  • A small walk or cardiovascular exercise in any form will help a lot to reduce the cellulite. The blood circulation facilitated by such activities helps to burn off the overall fat from the body.
  • If you are interested, you can also indulge in jump-roping, swimming, jogging etc.
  • Doing cardiovascular exercises at least 3 to 4 times in a week will give better results.
  • Walk at a brisk speed for 6 evenings in a week for 45 to 60 minutes. Take one day rest in the midst of the week. Also, go at a pace that is comfortable for you and not over-stressing. You can slow down if your breath starts getting heavy. Remember to walk with head up and shoulders back.
  • Do some strength training exercises, apart from exercises that help in your blood circulation. The exercises which build muscles in the thighs can tone the legs and reduce the fat deposition.

4. Massage

  • On massaging the back portion of the thighs, you can facilitate better circulation of blood in the legs. Thus, the dimples and wrinkles formed due to cellulite will decrease.
  • If you do not have a massaging tool, your fingers will do the trick. Massage the back of your thigh, in circular motions, for about 5 to 10 minutes daily. Massage over each and every inch having cellulite deposition.
  • Using a massaging soap is also an alternative. The nubs or bumps on the soap stimulate the flow of blood. Thus, the fluids which have solidified under the skin surface break down. Some of the soaps also contain exfoliants that remove dead skin and caffeine that make the skin firmer.

5. Exfoliate

  • An exfoliator not only removes dead skin, but also stimulates the blood circulation. Also, the toxins from the thigh region will be discarded upon exfoliation.
  • We suggest you to use natural exfoliants, as much as you can because they are gentle on any skin type. Salt, sugar and coffee are some of the natural exfoliants.
  • Ground coffee exfoliants will help to tighten the skin too.
  • It will be still better if you use an exfoliant containing oils like vitamin E or avocado oil or coconut oil. The oils help to hydrate and enrich the skin.

6. Use A Self-Tanner To Hide Cellulite

  • If you cannot discard the cellulite from your body properly, hide them using self-tanner cream.
  • Remember, to apply the self-tanning lotion to the entire leg and not just the back region of your thigh, or else you will end up attracting more attention to the back of your thighs.
  • Apply only a thin layer and not too much to make it look more natural.
  • Also, note that the cellulite appears more prominently on the light skin as compared to a dark skin.

7. Use A Cellulite Cream

  • You can obtain skin firming cosmetic products in the beauty section of almost all the big stores.
  • Many people have claimed that the cellulite on the thighs has reduced after using such products for few weeks.
  • Contents like L-Carnitine, Co-enzyme 10, lotus leaf extract etc. are beneficial in eliminating cellulite from the body.
  • The cream or lotion should be used daily to achieve the best results.
  • Also, some of the products can cause side-effects due to the presence of stimulants in them. So avoid using them too frequently.
  • Be careful while selecting a cosmetic product because some of them cause swelling in the skin to give a temporary effect of firming, instead of making the skin shrink.

8. Make Use Of Some Homemade Remedies:

  • You can prepare pastes and exfoliants at home and kick off those cellulite layers from your thighs.
  • Many remedies are available. But use only those that hydrate your skin and aid in blood circulation.

Following are some scrubs which you can make at home without giving in many efforts and creating a mess:

9. Ground Coffee Scrub

  • Coarse and ground coffee will exfoliate the skin, as well as improve the blood circulation. Thus, the regeneration of skin cells ensures a healthy skin.
  • In a bowl, mix 1/4 cup of ground coffee, 3 tbsp of sugar and 2 tbsp of liquid coconut oil and form a paste. Take a dab of the paste and massage the wrinkled or bumpy skin with it for some time, applying sufficient pressure. Finally, rinse the paste off with water that is lukewarm. Following this routine for 2 to 3 times in a week will get you rid of the cellulite.
  • You can store the remaining paste in a glass jar.

10. Dry Brushing

  • Dry brushing is an easy way to eliminate cellulite from the thighs. This process enhances the circulation of blood and also lymphatic drainage. It helps to remove the toxins from the uppermost layer of the skin. Hence, the cellulite deposition is cleared off gradually. A body brush that is made up from natural fibers is the best one to use.
  • Before you start brushing, make the skin and the brush both dry.
  • Brush from toe to the shoulders and from right to the left side. The areas with more cellulite should be focused more. Brushing movements should be in such a way that you facilitate the flow of the blood towards the heart and not away from it.
  • Dry brushing should be done for 5 to 10 minutes daily.
  • Taking a shower after dry brushing will wash off all the dead skin from the skin surface.
  • Doing this daily for few months will render effective results.

11. Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Apple Cider Vinegar contains magnesium, potassium, calcium and other minerals that help to reduce the cellulite in the skin. These elements also help in eliminating toxins and the retention of water around the thighs. Thus, cellulite and bloating are reduced.
  • Mix 1 cup of apple cider vinegar with 2 cups of water. You can even add a spoonful of honey if you wish. Apply the mixture to the affected area and leave it for half an hour. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. Following the process twice in a day will give desired results.
  • Mixing 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar with 1 tsp of honey and drinking it twice a day will also help to get rid of the cellulite.

Medical Treatments

1. Laser Therapy

  • In laser therapy, the fats of a particular region are liquefied and diverted towards lymph to get eliminated.
  • The results of the therapy are minor and the effect is temporary. So you may need to undergo the laser therapy every few months.

2. Liposuction

  • The liposuction process is very commonly used remedy, these days. But sometimes the results can be negative and worsen the problem, instead of improving it.
  • In liposuction, the fats are removed from the deep layers of the skin and not the cellulite actually. Due to the removal of fat padding, the appearance of cellulite is dampened. But the problem with the therapy is that wrinkles can become worse.

how to get rid of a hangover fast

What To Do Before And While Drinking?

  • Before getting started with the party, drink lots of water. Doing this activity will not only keep you hydrated, but will also dilute the alcohol that will go into your body.
  • To slow down the absorption of alcohol, eat lots of fat containing foods, rather than foods that contain more carbohydrates. Before drinking, eat foods like fries, sausages, pizzas, steak etc. The fats that you consume grease the walls of your intestines for at least 12 hours. So the absorption of alcohol becomes slower.
  • Keep time gaps between drinks. Best practice is to drink water or any other non-alcoholic drink between each alcoholic drink, so that the consumed alcohol becomes diluted.
  • Drink lighter alcohols. Clear alcohols like beer, gin, vodka etc. do not give much hangover compared to dark or malt liquors like whiskey, rum or red wines.

How Do You Get Rid Of A Hangover After Drinking Liquor?

1. Over The Counter Medications

You can take a medicine that is devoid of acetaminophen. Ibuprofen or Aspirin are such over-the-counter medicines. The effects of such medicines last only for four hours. So taking them before sleeping will not help to get rid of a hangover.

Alcohol interferes with the processing of acetaminophen by the liver. So taking a medicine with acetaminophen may lead to inflammation or permanent damage to the liver.

2. Consume Lots Of Water And Electrolytes

Drink lots of water and sports drinks that replenish the electrolytes in the body. A hangover is often accompanied by dehydration. So following this tip will prevent dehydration.

The processes through which alcohol is broken down, also lead to the production of lactic acid and other few chemicals that disrupt the production of glucose and electrolytes. Hence, it is advisable to drink some sports drinks. Do not drink something with caffeine, as it may increase the dehydration.

3. Eat A Burnt Toast

Did you notice that people who are taken to hospitals for curing the alcohol poisoning are pumped with potent carbon slurry in their stomachs? Carbon is a substance that has a great capacity to filter impurities. So eating a burnt toast will do the same trick at home.

4. Eat Bland Food Items

Many people think that eating bland foods increases the carbon and consequently the absorption of alcohol. But this does not hold true. Eating bland foods like crackers or toast increases the sugar levels in the blood. The alcohol that has entered your system will not let your body maintain a normal concentration of blood sugar. Hence, the low level of sugar in the blood will cause weakness and fatigue. So eat lots of complex carbohydrates like cereals and bread.

5. Eat Foods That Restore Salt And Potassium

After drinking, lots of potassium from the body is lost due to frequent urination. Potassium and salts keep the functioning of nerves and muscles in proper order. Sipping some bouillon soup helps to restore the potassium and salt in the body. Other foods that provide potassium are bananas, avocados, orange juice, potato chips etc.

6. Eat Foods Containing Fructose

Fructose helps to burn alcohol faster. So eating fruits and fruit juices will provide lots of fructose. Although, research says that consumption of fructose will make the metabolic effect of alcohol easier, but cannot relieve a person from the effects of a hangover.

7. Eat A Bacon Sandwich

As mentioned earlier, bread will increase the level of sugar in the body. Additionally, the protein in the bacon will convert into amino acids. Hence, the brain neurotransmitters will be replenished, which were degraded by the alcohol.

8. Try To Remain Happy

According to a study conducted by the British Medical Journal, in 1997, the hangover does not solely depend on how much or what you drink. A hangover is also affected by factors like negative incidents in past twelve months, anger or depression while drinking, having a neurotic personality, guilt about drinking etc.

9. Chewing Ginger

Chewing small pieces of ginger helps to get relief from hangovers. You can also boil about ten pieces of roots of ginger in about four cups of water. Add a half cup of honey, half lemon and juice of one orange to the boiled mixture. This recipe will provide faster relief from a hangover, as it stabilizes the level of sugar in the blood.

10. Eating Eggs

Eating eggs is a simple remedy to get rid of a hangover. Eggs contain Cysteine, which are a type of amino acids that help to overcome the effects of acetaldehyde. Acetaldehyde is found to worsen the effects of hangovers.

11. Sleep

Having a proper sleep is the most effective way to get rid of a hangover. Sleeping controls the Rapid Eye Movement, which helps in sufficient restoration of brain cells because of the rebound of glutamine in your system.

These were some remedies to get rid of a hangover fast. Now, let us study some wrong notions that we had been following for ages.

Myths About Remedies Of Hangover And True Facts

9 True Tips On How To Lose Belly Fat Fast?

We all know that having perfectly toned and firm stomach catches great attention. Men who have those to-drool-for abs get most of the girls and women who look so hot in their bikinis without a trace of belly fats catch most men’s interest. That leaves people like us who have stubborn belly fats to feel upset and disappointed of our body and how we look. But then again, should we really feel down and depress just because of these belly fats? Well, I strongly believe that we should not. These are just belly fats. I repeat, JUST belly fats.

How To Lose Belly Fat Fast?

How To Lose Belly Fat Fast

We can get rid of them, that’s a fact. Though there are certain pills and diet supplements, this will not be enough to get you your desired belly as it will only make you lose weight but will never develop your muscles. Hence, what we need to do to achieve that perfectly glorious abs is to give time and effort for exercise and eating well-balanced meals that are healthy. These are natural and no side effects unlike those diet pills and supplements that already have certain chemicals in them.

Personally speaking and based on experience, I categorized losing my belly fats into three:

(1) Proper mindset

(2) Physical activities directing abdominal muscles, and

(3) Complete healthy meals

These are just three categories but with a lot of things on them that we need to understand for us to have that heat-inducing abs.

The journey might not be pleasant and will require your determination and motivation to drop those unwanted belly fats, hence, the proper mind set is needed. I have seen people, and I admit that I was one of them until I finally decide to change, who started a program and gave their all during the first few days and even weeks. But they got tired along the way and stopped after a month or so which made all their efforts useless. Unfortunately, since they did not return to their exercise routines, they have regained fats that they should have already lost.

Once you put in your mind that you want to do this and you have a driving force to reach your goal of losing those unnecessary baggage, then you will have the self discipline to continue and the willpower to push yourself to achieve that desired goal. This mindset will also not let you give up when you are too tired to exercise or do physical activities.

Physical activities are also important because they develop our abdominal muscles. Once developed, they become firmer and stronger which enables you to be confident about it. There are a lot of exercises that you can do for your abdomen. Most of us do crunches, however, according to the author of The New Rules of Lifting for Abs, Lou Schuler, crunches are never enough as they only do wonders on the front and sides of our abdomen. To have the best abs, we should also develop our core muscles including those on our lower backs, hips and upper thighs.

Thirdly, our last category is the meal plan. Caloric intake that are in excess of what we need is one of the major reasons why we bloat and have excessive baggage of fats in us. Starving your selves just to make your belly flat is not helpful at all because not only are you becoming undernourished but you are also altering your natural body system. It is advisable to eat the right amount of food with enough calories so that we can still continue doing our daily tasks without getting weak.

Now that we have categorized what we need, I’ll let you now know the best ways on how to get rid of belly fat. I have here a combination of exercises and eating tips that will help you reduce your belly fat as it had helped me way back then.

1. Side plank

This is an exercise that works not only your abdominal muscles but your entire core. To do this, you must lie with your elbow on the floor and in straight line with your shoulder. Stack your feet one on top of the other and place your right hand on your right hip. Brace your abs and raise your hips off the floor while balancing on your forearm and feet. Your body should form a diagonal line by now and you should hold it for 30-40 seconds. Repeat on the other side.

2. Walkout from Push-up Position

Like the side plank, this exercise will also strengthen your entire core and it is easy to do. Just have yourself in a push up position with hands a couple of inches away from your shoulders. Then, walk hands out as far as possible and walk back. Repeat this whole procedure for 10 – 12 times.

3. Donkey kickbacks

This is definitely one of the best calories killer exercises. You should kneel in all fours with your toes tucked under and keeping your back in a neutral position. Then, contract your abs while drawing your belly in toward your spine and lift both knees a couple of inches from the ground. Bring your right knee toward your nose and kick the same leg straight backward while squeezing your butt. Have this routine repeated for 8 times and do the same on the other leg.

4. Take a brisk walk before breakfast

A recent study found that when you expose yourself to sunlight between 8 am and noon, you reduced your risk for weight gain no matter your caloric intake or level of physical activity. Brisk walking will also help you burn down caloric intake and stored fats.

5. Avoid eating on fast foods and soda

Fast food is a major no-no if you want to lose your belly fats. The food that they serve contains lots and lots of calories and fats. The calories from their food are really hard to burn and will make you feel more bloated afterwards. Sodas also contain a lot of calories and the worst part is that they don’t offer any nutritional value at all. It has been said that calories from soda comes from a fructose corn syrup which our body does not know how to process that turns into belly fats.

6. Eat 5 small meals a day

We usually eat three times a day, right? Why don’t you try eating small portions of food 5 times a day? This set up will help you from feeling hungry as you replenish your tummy every now and then.

7. Drink water before a meal

This helps, trust me. Drinking water before eating a meal will make you feel full and lets you control the amount that you eat. It is advisable that you drink 1 glass of water before you eat as it will also help improve digestion right after.

8. Reduce salt intake

Salt retains water, therefore, when you eat food that contains too much salt, you experience water retention which makes you feel bloated and will add up to your big belly.

9. Avoid stress

It may sound weird but avoiding stress can really help you reduce your belly fats. When you are under stress, your body produces hormones that alter metabolism in some ways. Also, when you are under stress, there is a tendency that you will stress-eat because you compensate your stress with the food, particularly sweets, that you eat.

Having shared these insights and tips of how to reduce belly fat, I sincerely hope that you will be able to achieve your desired outcome. Belly fats are just an excess baggage and just like any other baggage; we can leave unnecessary things behind so that we will not have the hassle to carry it anymore.
